The vegetarian recipe for Christmas Cookies (eggless):

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup wheat germ
  • 1/3 cup fresh milk
  • 125 g or 1/2 pack butter
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp liquid food color – bright red
  • 1 tsp liquid food color – apple green

Seasonings

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla flavor
  • 2 tbsp icing sugar

Method

  • Combine wheat flour, wheat germ, fresh milk, butter, sugar, baking powder and vanilla flavor; mix evenly.
  • Divide into 2 portions.
  • Add bright red and apple green liquid food colors to the respective dough; combine food color and dough .
  • Scoop out 1/2 tbsp of each colored dough and gently knead into a round shape; repeat.
  • Lay all the cookies on a greased baking tray.
  • Put in a preheated oven and bake at 160°c for about 25 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and sprinkle icing sugar over the cookies while it is still warm.
  • Cool and serve.
