5 shiitakes (soak in water until soft, cut into thin strips)
6 long beans (cut into thin round pieces)
1 small packet of glutinous rice flour
1 banana leaf (cut into round shapes – 2 1/2 inch diameter)
Seasonings
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 tablespoon of sugar
1 tablespoon of soy sauce
1 tablespoon of white pepper powder
Method
Filling = Stir-fry yam bean strips + shiitake strips + long bean pieces. Add salt + sugar + soy sauce + white pepper powder and briefly stir-fry. Add 1/2 cup of water and simmer until fully absorbed. Dish out and set onto a plate to cool.
Dough = Gradually add some water into the glutinous rice flour, mix and form a soft & sticky dough.
Prepare one cup of oil, spread some oil onto your hands, scoop out 2 tablespoons of the glutinous rice dough, put it on your hand and flatten the dough into round shape.
Add one tablespoon of filling onto the center of the pastry, pull around and pinch ends to make round dumplings.
Lay onto the banana leaves and steam for 15 minutes.
